Thermodynamic Steam Trap works on "Bernoullis Principle" - the sum total of the static and Dynamic energy of a system remains constant at any time. |

| The trap work as follows : | |
| Steam enters lifts disc letting out air and condensate. | |
| Dry steam at higher velocity creates low pressure under disc pulling it on the seat. | |
| Flash steam on top of the disc builds up pressure holding disc on the set, trapping stem below. | |
| Condensation of steam above disc reduces pressure. | |
| Condensate below disc at higher pressure lifts disc letting out the condensate . Fresh steam enters the cycle repeats. | |
| Steam an ideal and cheap heat transfer media. | |
