GATE VALVES
Gate Valve Gate Valve (Cast Steel) are tight sealing, easy operation, isolation valves for liquid and gaseous fluids over a wide range of line pressures and temperatures.
Self Adjusting Flexible Wedge assures tight sealing and minimizes stress concentrations under varied service conditions.
Steam-Wedge thrust closer to wedge centre for accurate wedge movement
Long guide ribs in the body to minimize seat wear.
Gate valves are of Rising Stem, Outside Screw & Yoke and with Bolted Bonnet construction. The Rising Stem is indicative of the valve being closed or open. The outside Screw ensures easy lubrication and prevents corrosion and erosion by line fluids.
The body is designed for strength to withstand operating conditions and contoured to minimize erosion and resistance to flow.
The bonnet is fitted with a bonnet bush to guide the stem and provide for back seating when the valve is open and under pressure.
Class 150 & 300 : Valves upto 12' size are of integral one piece Yoke - Bonnet.
Class 600 : Valves upto 14" size are of integral one piece Yoke-Bonnet.
(Valves of sizes 6" and above have Thrust Bearings in the Yoke Bush for ease of operation.)
The one piece, cast flexible wedge minimizes stress concentration and assures tight sealing over a wide range of differential pressures. As the wedge is flexible it adjusts itself for slight mis-alignments caused by pipeline deflections.
The Stem to Wedge thrust is applied closer to the wedge centre. This reduces lateral stem loading and provides for more accurate wedge movement.
Seal welded seat rings offer minimum resistance to flow. It also eliminates any chance of leakage through the path between seat rings and body. Valves of 2" size have seat rings flared into the body.
The seating surfaces are ground and lapped.
A two piece ball type gland arrangement minimizes stem scoring and binding. It also ensures uniform load on packing even when the gland bolts are not uniformly tightened. The stuffing box with a high quality surface finish holds a minimum of 5 packing rings. This enhances gland tightness and extends the life of packing rings.
Valves are offered with flanges and butt weld ends
