Valves (Cast Steel, Swing Type) are used in pipelines with liquid and
gaseous fluids over a wide range of line pressures and temperatures. Some
of its special features are : |
| The body is designed for strength to meet operating conditions and contoured to minimize erosion and resistance to flow. | |
| The full port area is maintained from the inlet port to the body seat ring to minimize turbulence. The outlet side of the body is designed to maximize the flow even when the disc swings partially. | |
| The disc is opened and sustained in open position by the velocity pressure of the fluid and closed by the force of gravity. Seating load and resultant tightness is aided by back pressure in the line. | |
| The body seat ring is seal welded to the body avoiding leakage through the path between the seat ring and the body. The seating surfaces are ground and lapped. | |
| Valves are offered with flange and butt weld ends | |
| Flanged - ASME / ANSI B 16.5 Raised Face (RF) finish to 125 to 250 Ra (AARH) | |
| Butt weld - ASME / ANSI B 16.25 to suit the corresponding pipe schedule. | |
| Valve Design | BS 1868 |
| Shell Wall thickness | API 600 |
| Valve face to face/ end to end dimensions | ASME / ANSI B 16.10 |
| Pressure-Temperature ratings | ASME / ANSI B16.34 |
| Pressure testing | API 598 |
| Valves can also be offered with IBR certification. | |
| Check Valves are used to prevent reversal of flow in horizontal or vertical pipelines. In vertical pipelines or for any angle from horizontal to vertical, they can be used for upward flow only. | |
